Every great addition starts below the surface. Before walls go up or a single cabinet gets installed, the foundation has to be right. That's exactly where we are on this kitchen addition - laying the groundwork that everything else will depend on.
You can see the concrete slab and CMU block foundation wall taking shape between the existing structure and the new addition space. This is the kind of work that doesn't get a lot of attention once the project is done, but it's the reason the finished space will still be performing decades from now. We don't cut corners here.
What we're building toward is more room and better flow for everyday life. A kitchen addition isn't just square footage - it changes how a home actually works. Better traffic patterns, more workspace, room for the whole family to be in the kitchen at once without bumping into each other.
The existing deck with composite steps and black aluminum railing is already in place on the right side, which gives you a good sense of how this addition is going to tie into the home seamlessly. The whole thing will feel like it was always part of the original build - that's the goal on every project we take on.
We're in the thick of it now and we're excited to see this one come together. Stay tuned for updates as the walls go up and the space really starts to take shape.
